Flexible Medical Packaging Ltd.
A
company that offers a range of packaging solutions for medical device, pharmaceutical,
and wound dressing applications recently installed a narrow-web flexographic
press. Flexible Medical Packaging Ltd. (Lancaster, UK) selected the Aquaflex
to meet a range of packaging requirements, according to business development
manager Keith Rousell. The press is set up for optional printing on the reverse
side of the web, and it is equipped with die-cutting stations for label and
blister lidding operations.
"One of the key benefits for customers is the Aquaflex's unique tooling changeover system," explains Rousell. "It allows us to undertake difficult short-run work without the usual associated problems such as expensive setup charges. We can offer short lead times, which gives our customers greater control of their inventory," he adds.
An active ink development programme has been established to support the press. Projects involving sterilization indicator inks and other specialized applications are ongoing.
