A
machine that dispenses and seals cohesive tape around tubing coils automatically
feeds and cuts the tape in one continuous operation. The TAYP-R, designed by
S-Y-M Products Co. (Stamford, CT, USA) accommodates latex and nonlatex tape
in widths of 25.4, 19, and 12.7 mm. Constructed of stainless steel and a high-density
plastic, the machine is suited for use in clean environments.
"The TAYP-R brings efficiency and ergonomics to assembly and packaging operations," says general manager Dan Fowler. "Historically, during the production of tubing sets, tape would have to be ripped off a roll and applied by hand," he explains. "The TAPY-R enables the operator to apply the tape without touching it."
In addition to the TAYP-R, S-Y-M Products Co. manufactures tube-coiling machines, which can be used with taping machines to create integrated systems, as well as other assembly and packaging equipment for medical device OEMs.
