PRODUCT UPDATE

Tolas Health Care Packaging

Protective barrier materials that maintain package integrity during product sterilization, shipment, and storage are supplied by a converter of medical and pharmaceutical packaging. Tolas Health Care Packaging (London) provides Tyvek, surgical paper, film, and foil in the form of printed or unprinted pouches, lidding, and rollstock. Materials are available with zone coating to permit easy peeling following EtO, radiation, or steam sterilization.

"Zone-coated lidding—the precise application of a proprietary heat-seal adhesive coating within the seal area—is suited for protective packaging of medical devices, implants, and pharmaceuticals,"explains sales director Leslie Love. "Zone coating prevents adhesives from coming in contact with the product and maximizes lidding porosity," she adds. The TPT-0281Z autoclavable Tyvek lidding for rigid tray packaging is tear and puncture resistant and withstands 250°–260°F steam sterilization.

The company also supplies chevron, corner-peel, tear-open, and rounded-corner pouches; pouches on a roll; and Dispos-A-Vent pouches. In addition to its London location, the firm has facilities in Feasterville, PA, USA, and Cincinnati, OH, USA.
