PRODUCT UPDATE
3DT LLCCorona treatment increases the wettability of polymer surfaces, allowing adhesion for printing, coating, and bonding applications. In addition, the process can be used to provide petri dishes, test panels, and other disposable laboratory products with enhanced surface characteristics.
3DT LLC (Germantown, WI, USA) has introduced the LabDyne corona treating system for small-scale production runs and/or laboratory testing of three-dimensional plastic parts.
The system can be used to maximize the adhesive properties of a wide variety of plastic substrates. Any nonconductive item that will fit in the 8 x 8-in. drawer receives uniform corona treatment of all exposed areas. "One of the advantages of the LabDyne system is the batch process; different sizes and shapes of parts can be treated without setup changes," says S. Erik Kiel, sales and marketing manager.
The self-contained, compact tabletop corona treating system includes an integrated generator, transformer, electrode assembly, and ozone filter.
