SURFACE TREATMENT
Conformal polymer coating insulates and protects sensitive components
A Swiss company specializes in parylene vacuum surface treatment. Comelec S.A. (La Chaux-de-Fonds) carries out galxyl or parylene treatment in its workshops on a contract basis.
The galxyl coating process is carried out under a vacuum at room temperature. The coating is completely uniform, pinhole free, and adaptable to any configuration of substrate or materials. An advantage of the process is that parts undergo no mechanical, physical, or thermal stress during polymerization. The coating provides good electrical insulation and is highly resistant to moisture, gas, solvents, and chemical agents. It can be applied in a one-step deposition by static or tumble processes.
In addition to providing contract coating services, Comelec can design and install a galxyl or parylene coating machine on its customers' premises, according to custom specifications. The firm is also the exclusive agent for the sale of galxyl raw material in Europe.
