METAL FABRICATION

Machining firm offers expertise in implants

For the past 15 years, a company has supplied metal fabrication services to the medical sector, with an emphasis on titanium and stainless-steel implants. Anthogyr (Sallanches, France) exhibited at the Midest show in Paris last November.

"We can produce anywhere from 50 to 5000 pieces," says Jean-Denis Pernin, production engineer at Anthogyr. Past medical projects at the company have focussed on implantable screws and vertebral implant components. "The high quality demands in the medical sector help to keep our production standards high, and help our technology to evolve," says Pernin.

All of the firm's implants are cleaned, packaged, and sterilized by a continuous series of controlled procedures carried out in two specialized cleanrooms (Class 10,000 and Class 100,000). Parts are dried and packaged in Class 100 laminar-flow units, which eliminate the possibility of contamination. Sterilization is performed using gamma irradiation. The company is certified to ISO 9001/EN 46001.
