Sensor incorporates an amplifier
A new piezoresistive sensor from Sensortechnics (Puchheim, Germany) was exhibited at the Medica show. "The medical market is very price sensitive, and this sensor represents a very cost-effective solution," says Sensortechnics sales and marketing manager Armin Wellhöfer, noting that the ASDX has a built-in amplifier.
It also features pressure measurement from 1 to 7 psi full scale, combining high-level output with a small package. The sensor is accurate to 2.5% within the temperature-compensated range of 10° to 85°C. Typical applications include respirators and oximeters, as well as flow calibrators, instrumentation, barometers, and pneumatic controls.
The ASDX design is an amplified version of the company's SDX-series sensor, and incorporates the latest MEMs and ASIC technologies. Both sensors are able to measure absolute, differential, and gauge pressure, and feature low warm-up and long-term-stability error.
