CUSTOM CATHETERS
Web-based service aids communication with customers
An interactive Web-based service for established customers is offered by Clearstream Technologies Ltd. (Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, Ireland), a firm that specializes in the production of custom catheters. The company, which exhibited at Medica, now allows its customers to enter and track orders, print invoices, view statements, and track product shipments via an on-line system it calls the Interactive Client Area (ICA).
"The response has been overwhelmingly positive," says Clearstream managing director Andrew Jones. "Customers are particularly happy that the ICA eliminates order reconciliation," he says, adding that the ICA portal also allows the firm's clients to register and track complaints.
Clearstream produces OEM catheters primarily for coronary or peripheral angioplasty, either as PTCA, PTA or stent delivery catheters (SDS). Products can be purchased either bulk nonsterile, or sterile with a custom label. The company introduced two new ultralow-profile OEM catheters at the Medica show: a PTA/peripheral stent delivery catheter, and a PTCA/stent delivery catheter.
