Advanced Polymers Inc. RMB Changes Name to myonic AG
RMB S.A. (Biel, Switzerland) has changed its name to myonic AG. The company, which is known for supplying miniature bearings and components, is now providing integrated microsystems. The company has production facilities in Switzerland, Germany, and the Czech Republic, and subsidiary companies in France, Italy, Germany, the UK, and the United States. The company's drive systems include brushless dc motors and gearheads in a range of sizes, control electronics, and sensors. The systems can be used in a variety of medical device applications, such as scanning equipment, prosthetic devices, miniature pumps, lens- and prism-positioning systems, and analytical instrumentation.

Solvay and BP Engineering Polymers Form Joint Venture
Solvay S.A. (Brussels) has formed a joint venture with BP Engineering Polymers (Geel, Belgium). The agreement has led to Solvay's transfer of its polypropylene business to BP and BP's transfer of its engineering polymers business to Solvay. Solvay has also formed a joint venture with BP in high-density polyethylene in Europe and North America.
"The acquisition allows the Solvay Group to expand its portfolio of products and develop a leadership position in the industry," says Joe Greulich, president and chief executive officer of Solvay Advanced Polymers.
