Shows and ConferencesAvail Opens Technology Centre
Avail Medical Products Inc., a medical disposables manufacturer, has opened a new 10,000-sq-ft technology and development centre in Dallas, TX, USA. The new site will enable the company to help its customers to design and engineer new products quickly.
The tech centre provides turnkey solutions for product development and contract manufacturing. Development activities begin with design input conferences, brainstorming meetings, project planning, and risk analysis. The next stage is conceptual design renderings, mock-ups and models, and working prototypes. Products then move into preliminary computer-aided design modelling, rapid prototyping, rapid tooling, and preproduction testing.
"Because our technical design support resides in-house, our customers will save time and money. We design devices to be built, integrating initial concepts effectively into our manufacturing processes," says Fred Borsini, vice president of technology and development at Avail. The company also recently opened a 40,000-sq-ft manufacturing facility in Tijuana, Mexico. The facility is capable of producing more than half a million parts per month.
