Midest Showcases European Subcontracting

Midest 2001, the 31st International Industrial Subcontracting Exhibition, will be held 20–23 November at the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre. Midest 2001 encompasses each field of subcontracting and is divided into detailed sector arrangements that allow exhibitors to highlight their expertise. The show is divided into six major sectors: plastics, rubber, and composites processing; tooling, moulds, and models; electronics; microtechnology; industrial services such as engineering, research, and quality and industrial maintenance; and metal processing.

Euromold Outlines Tooling Design

Featuring mould making, tooling design, and application development, Euromold 2001 will be held 28 November–1 December at the Exhibition Centre in Frankfurt, Germany. The fair will represent the entire process chain, from design to prototyping to series production. The exhibition will include industrial designers, product developers, processors, and suppliers.

Medica 2001 Focusses on Telemedicine

Medica 2001 will feature more than 3600 exhibitors displaying their newest products. More than 120,000 visitors are expected at the event, which will showcase innovations in electromedical equipment, laboratory equipment, diagnostics, and orthopaedic technology. To date, 53% of exhibitors are from countries other than Germany, with 213 from Italy, 203 from the US, 163 from the UK, and 147 from France.

A special exhibit, Medica Media, will demonstrate how telemedicine and medical information systems can increase quality and cost-effectiveness in both healthcare and process management. The exhibit will consist of scientific projects by European universities and research institutes, demonstrations of current applications for medical information systems, and a review of research geared towards introducing innovative telemedicine solutions. The show will take place 21–24 November in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Conference Highlights Clinical Research Trials

A two-day clinical research conference will be held 26–27 November in London. Topics to be covered include EN 540, European regulations for clinical trials, requirements for clinical investigations, how to obtain regulatory approvals, and integrating clinical research activities with quality systems.
