Tekra Corporation has been providing plastic films and laminating adhesives to the medical market for over 25 years. We are proud to be strategic partners with major companies such as Dupont Teijin Films™, SABIC Innovative Plastics, and 3M. Our product line includes polyester (PET), polyethylene napthalate (PEN), polycarbonate (PC), rigid vinyl (RPVC), high impact polystyrene (HIPS) and many other plastic films in gauges from .0005” to .030” thickness. We are one of the largest suppliers in North America for the point-of-care test strip market and we possess expertise in product development for the transdermal and medical packaging markets.

Tekra has warehouse and converting facilities on both the coasts of the U.S., as well as at our headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As one of the major suppliers of PET and PC film to the medical market, we stock a wide range of sheets and roll films, in many thicknesses. We also have the capability to provide narrow and/or close tolerance converting of film to your specifications. Most products can be cold-roll laminated to a number of pressure-sensitive adhesives.

We provide extensive logistical support for JIT and lean manufacturing, with state-of-the-art inventory control and order entry. Additionally, we provide Web access for all of our customers that includes real-time order placement and 24/7 order tracking. Using this service, customers can access custom products and pricing, look up product availability, and perform a number of other transactions through our secure site.

Tekra has in-house capabilities for solvent or aqueous coatings applied to various film substrates with UV or thermally cured processes. These functional coatings can be used to enhance abrasion and chemical resistance, or to provide improved surfaces for digital and conventional printing processes. Many of our hard-coated films are preferentially used in the device industry as lens covers and touch screens by the medical and telecommunications markets. The coating operation is in a particulate controlled environment at white room and class 10,000 clean room standards. We have a flexible process that can be used for start-up and prototype runs, and is easily scaled up for large production.

Our medical team specializes in developing custom material solutions that are crafted to your requirements. In addition to our in-house coating capability, we work closely with the film coating division of DuPont Teijin Films™. Dupont’s functional coatings include heat-seal chemistries (EVA and APET), proprietary coatings to improve moisture and/or oxygen barrier properties, enhanced print receptive treatments, and many others.
