High Performance Circular Connectors for Demanding Medical Applications

Fischer® Connectors, Inc. engineers, manufactures, and distributes an extensive line of circular connectors for use in demanding medical applications. The company offers more than 30 intermateable sealed and unsealed body types for cable and panel mounting.

Contact configurations include multipole, coaxial, triaxial, mixed, high voltage and thermocouple, in standard or custom designs. Fischer connectors feature precision-machined shells of brass, stainless steel, or aluminum, as well as high-performance plastic. The products are designed and manufactured per ISO 9001, and sealed connectors are rated at IP68.

Sealed connectors intermate with unsealed counterparts, which provides the designer with greater flexibility and success in specifying connectors which more accurately meet functional and cost targets. Sealed plug versions are well suited for use in moisture laden or gaseous environments.

High Performance Plastic Shell Connectors for Medical Applications

The 405 Series high performance plastic-shell connectors offer up to 40 gold-plated contacts in an 18 mm diameter body. They are highly chemical resistant, withstand operating temperatures of +200°C, and are safe for all medical sterilization procedures, including autoclave and liquid germicide. The products are designed and manufactured per ISO 9001, and sealed connectors are rated at IP68. A full range of accessories is also available, including cable strain reliefs, sealing caps, and crimp contacts.

The inherently insulated construction of this plastic connector provides a high degree of electrical isolation and shock-protection. All external body components are manufactured from a lightweight plastic that meets USP Class VI, resulting in a 60% reduction in the overall connector weight compared to similar metal-shell versions.
