International Polymer Engineering (IPE) manufactures and distributes custom profile extrusions made from porous PTFE and a variety of melt thermoplastic materials. IPE also produces a line of replacement biopsy channels constructed with a PTFE inner layer. The polyurethane encapsulated stainless steel spring is attached to the outer surface for support and improved kink and puncture resistance. IPE uses the latest in polymer technology and automated extrusion techniques to reduce costs and shorten lead times for the manufacture of small diameter tubing. IPE uses PTFE, nylon, FEP, polyurethane and other thermoplastics to extrude parts to customer designed specifications. The melt thermoplastic tube and rod components manufactured at International Polymer Engineering are engineered per your specifications.

FluoroFlex™ Endoscopic Wire-reinforced Channels

International Polymer Engineering's patented FluoroFlex endoscopic working channels are constructed with an inner layer of solid PTFE and an outer layer of porous PTFE with a stainless steel spiral support. The outer porous PTFE layer acts like a spring wrap providing kink resistance and compression resistance.

The inherent lubricity of the PTFE inner layer allows instruments to pass freely with minimal resistance. Both the inner and outer layers of material have a long history of use in medical products and have a Class VI implant rating. The finished channels maintain integrity throughout sterilization procedures and allow flex angles of up to 210 degrees. Click here for standard sizes.
