Filtrona is a manufacturer of bonded fiber components used in diagnostic and other in-vitro medical devices. These components function as liquid transfer wicks, absorptive media and filters and are used in other applications involving capillary transfer or dispensing of liquids. All products are custom manufactured using continuous fiber bonding technology and can be made in a wide range of geometric profiles. Cellulose acetate, polyester, nylon and polyolefin fibers may be used to meet material compatibility and component performance requirements.

• TRANSORB® Wicks are used as wicking components in lateral flow diagnostic devices such as midstream pregnancy and ovulation tests and in other applications requiring collection and transfer of sample liquids or reagents.

• TRANSORB® Reservoirs are used as the downstream absorptive media in flow-through diagnostic devices, and in other applications requiring absorption and retention of excess liquid.

• TRANSORB® Pre-Filter Media functions as a depth filter in sample preparation and other applications requiring filtration or separation of undesired solid or aerosol substances. Well suited for heat/moisture exchange applications. This media can be surface modified for covalent binding applications.

• FILTRONA® Pipette Filter Media is provided in a bonded component form, ready for assembly into pipette tips or serological pipettes. Good compatibility with polypropylene and polystyrene.

• FILTRONA® Ampule Covers consist of a bonded fiber tube, with a porous paper outer wrap which can be printed during manufacture. Pre-filled glass ampules can be assembled within the fiber tube to form an inhalation therapy device.
