Heart rate/fitness monitoring systems
Fitness monitors measure both a person's amount and rate of exercise as well as effort expended. Typically, a wristwatch or wrist-worn display is used for control and providing feedback. All parts of the system require ultra-low-power embedded controllers and low-power RF for communications.

Blood glucose and other diagnostic meters
