Strain Measurement Devices is a world leader in specialty sensor designs. The company develops load cells, strain gauge sensors, and electronic flow measuring sensors for a variety of products. An SMD load cell is used in a wide variety of medical, industrial, aerospace and other OEM applications. Custom designed sensors include medical sensors, non-invasive pressure, occlusion, non-invasive flow, force, scales, miniature load cells, low capacity load cells, liquid level sensors, float switches and pressure transducers of many types.
Strain Measurement Devices provides a seemingly infinite variety of sensors to accurately measure force, pressure, acceleration, and other physical parameters. Approximately 90% of SMD products are custom designed, equipping these sensors to meet the more specialized needs of OEM's. SMD's Peerless engineering team designs sensors for unique requirements and aggressive cost targets. Typical specialized requirements include small sizes, high temperature, low capacities, "Cenelec" dielectric, and overload proof sensors.
