Products:

Oliver medical device packaging solutions consist primarily of USP Class VI toxicity tested engineered adhesives, including blue-tinted adhesives that facilitate verification of coating and seal inspection.

Oliver's exclusive DotCoat® adhesive technology adds value and function to medical grade papers, Tyvek®, films, and foils used for medical device packaging.

The DotCoat® process applies 100 percent solids to selected substrates using a hot-melt gravure process that transfers adhesive to the substrate in a uniform dot pattern.

Advantages of this technology include a wider sealing window, lower sealing pressures, and improved porosity. This combination allows for a more forgiving packaging process and greater material variations, while saving on tooling maintenance. DotCoat® also creates a more reliable and consistent seal through a "caulking" effect that allows adhesive to flow into and fill uneven areas on the substrate and bottom web. It also provides more consistent peel strength when opened than materials using conventional coating methods and materials.

Product Applications:

Rollstock: Oliver's DotCoat® technology for form-fill-seal applications

Oliver offers a wide range of packaging options for medical devices such as implantables, catheters, wound care, components and instruments.

Benefits of Oliver rollstock include:

  • Wide sealing window, permitting the use of lower temperatures
  • Reduced set-up time and faster production runs on high-speed TFFS equipment.
  • Adhesive/Tyvek® combinations create a bacterial barrier with high puncture resistance.
  • Consistent peel strength, smooth adhesive transfer verifies seal integrity.

Lids: Oliver's technically advanced adhesive that seals to silicon coated trays.

Oliver's hot-melt adhesive's superior anchorage eliminates contamination risk by keeping the adhesive on the package, and off your product.

Oliver's NP 34 hot melt adhesive delivers more of what matters most:

  • Superior anchorage
  • Superior seal window contributes to easier validation
  • Superior porosity prevents sterilizer ³creep²
  • Seals to silicone PETG trays
  • Suitable for cold-drop applications

Pouches: Oliver's ultra-clear film laminate and O/clave®, an autoclavable lidding material for sterilization up to 130 degrees C.

Applications include implants, catheters, wound care, procedure trays, components and instruments.

Pre-formed pouches are also available for EtO, radiation, and autoclave sterilization.

O/clave® autoclavable medical packaging is appropriate for Class II autoclavable medical devices, including sterile eye solutions, prosthetics, silicone implantables, and other autoclavable products.

O/clave® consists of either uncoated paper or Tyvek® coated with a specially formulated high-melt-point adhesive using our proprietary DotCoat® process. The holt-melt adhesive withstands high temperatures and is impervious to moisture. O/clave® is also EtO, gamma and E-beam steriizable.

Oliver pharmaceutical-grade (PMP) pouches are produced in Oliver's ultra-clean manufacturing environment, utilizing processes that ensure pharmaceutical manufacturers superior package cleanliness and performance.

Color-coded pouches: Oliver's exclusive technology allows for end-use color-coding of medical devices.

Oliver's newly introduced trap printing/laminating process utilizes solvent-based inks to create vivid color pouches in a wide range of sizes.

Header bags: Oliver X-hale® header bags offer a unique combination of superior toughness with breath-ability approaching uncoated Tyvek®.

Exceptional porosity produces optimum air/gas movement during sterilization, with faster odor dissipation and degassing for quicker shipment. Header bags are available in EVA, ULLDPE, and Nylon co-extrusion materials to meet any application.
