TOLAS converts Tyvek^®, reinforced and surgical kraft papers, laminated and co-extruded films and multi-layer foil constructions into pouches, lidding, and printed rollstock. Our converting operation is equipped for printing, die-cutting, pouching, slitting, laminating, sheeting and prototyping for new package development.

Our expertise in heat-seal coating technology is demonstrated in our SealScience^® line of coated materials. Available overall or zone coated with proprietary FDA approved adhesives, our EtO, autoclave and radiation sterilizable packaging provides uniform peel strength and seals and peels cleanly and easily. Our adhesive coatings provide a visible seal transfer for visual inspection and assurance of seal integrity.

TOLAS and its affiliated companies include a 50,000 square foot converting operation in suburban Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and a 20,000 square foot coating operation in suburban Cincinnati, Ohio. To assist you in package development we have offices throughout the US as well as in-house sales and customer service. For technical assistance running our materials on your equipment we offer technical support at your location or training at our home office.

Form-Fill-Seal and In-line Flexible Packaging: TOLAS has developed advanced heat-seal coatings for three different grades of Tyvek®. These products show superior performance features over other coated and uncoated materials. These features include a wide seal temperature range enabling sealing at lower temperatures and higher speeds, strong seals to flexible forming webs, and excellent porosity values below 75 seconds Gurley.

TPT-0231A, heat-seal coated 1073B Tyvek®, provides maximum product protection and processability, combining the strength of 1073B Tyvek® with superior seal qualities provided by the heat-seal coating. TPT-0237A utilizes 1059B Tyvek® rollstock for extended yields. TPT-0268 heat-seal coated Tyvek® 2FS provides the highest yield of the three products with economies equaling that of coated paper.

Packaging for Steam Sterilization: TOLAS offers an autoclavable polyester-based film lamination that is heat-sealable to Tyvek® 1073B for a durable, high quality peelable pouch. This flexible packaging is autoclavable by OEMs or in-hospital under controlled conditions (260°F/126°C); suitable for the processing and protection of instruments, implants, parenterals and other products requiring steam sterilization.

TPF-0563A/1073B Tyvek® pouches are a high performance alternative to paper. TPF-0563A offers a clean, fiber-free peel from Tyvek® after sterilization. TPF-0563A/1073B pouches are extremely tear and puncture resistant, retaining strength and integrity throughout the sterilization process.

A polyester outer layer prevents the film from sticking to heat seal platens. TPF-0563A has excellent clarity for product visibility. Since no coating is needed for sealing the film to Tyvek®, the contents of the package never come in contact with an adhesive.

Steam sterilizable Tyvek ® pouches from TOLAS are ideal for use when flexible packaging is specified and product sensitivity rules out radiation or EtO.

Lidding for Steam Sterilization: TOLAS offers Tyvek ® 1073B lidding with a proprietary zone coated adhesive. TPT-0281Z can withstand controlled autoclave conditions, yet provide ease of opening comparable to EtO and radiation sterilizable packaging.

Tyvek ® is permeable to water vapor but insensitive to water. The porous nature of Tyvek ® allows water vapor under pressure to pass through it during steam sterilization while its moisture barrier properties effectively prevent contaminants from coming into contact with your product.

TPT-0281Z autoclavable Tyvek® lidding is ideal when rigid tray packaging is specified and product sensitivity rules out radiation or EtO. TPT-0281Z is tear and puncture-resistant and can be subjected to steam sterilization at 250-260°F. It offers an easy, fiber free peel.
