PlasticWeld Systems, Inc. designs and builds precision catheter tipforming systems. These tipping and flaring systems and the tipping and flaring automation modules are the highest quality and most reputable tube forming and shaping machines available. Our proprietary HPS series of solid state tipforming power supplies can be configured into manual or semi-automatic tipping, tube forming and shaping machines as well as the PlasticWeld high speed tipforming and flaring modules used on high speed automation machines.
Over 30 years of medical manufacturing
experience has resulted in the development of our
compact catheter tipforming and shaping systems. The units are housed in a one piece stainless steel
enclosure which was designed for the catheter
manufacturing environment. This easy clean cabinet encloses the solid state, transistorized HPS
series RF generator, the PLC control system, a
large touch screen operator interface, all the necessary equipment for the precise control of the tipforming process and eliminates the typical add on construction of other tipforming systems.
These unique machines can perform catheter tipping in one, two or four catheter per cycle
configurations or multiple operations can be combined such as tip and eyeforming or a
tipforming and drilling operation. If desired, a tubing feeder can be
added to these versatile
machines to provide systems that are virtually operator free.
Sophisticated pneumatic or stepper motor controlled actuators can be tooled for standard
tipforming as well as bonding of soft tips to
braided tubing or multi-durometer tips can be
fused to catheter shafts.
