G&L Precision Die Cutting, Inc. is internationally recognized for its proprietary GL-187® diagnostic pressure sensitive adhesive used by the leading IVD companies. Since its introduction more than 15 years ago, GL-187® has become the industry standard for diagnostic test strips, lateral flow and vertical flow devices. More than 6 billion test strips have used GL-187® - that's enough test strips to reach the moon. This special adhesive for diagnostics is available laminated to various plastic films for the rigid platform needed for diagnostic tests. Custom IVD backing material with GL-187® is available in card or sheet form as well as roll form.

G&L also offers custom printed cover tapes for lateral flow and vertical flow diagnostic applications. Typical applications include arrows, lines, test identification, and trade names.

As a full service converter, G&L specializes in serving the diagnostic, disposable medical, and medical electronics markets. Capabilities include tight tolerance and high speed rotary die cutting; multi-layer lamination; flat bed die-cutting (clicker presses); laser die cutting; reciprocating and horizontal punch presses; narrow web slitting and converting; flexographic printing; subassembly and finished device assembly services; and design and material assistance.

We are experienced in handling active membranes, absorbents, and other delicate materials for the medical industry. This includes offering a hydrophobic coating for backing cards and manufacturing in dry rooms. In addition, our expertise in diagnostics makes us the right choice for biosensor components.

G&L follows strict manufacturing standards — ISO 9001:2000 certified and GMP compliant. We have a class 10,000 clean room and dry rooms. Our services reach customers in more than 35 countries. We manufacture to exacting customer specifications and schedules — on time and on budget.

At our corporate offices in San Jose, California we have over 50,000 square feet of manufacturing and warehouse space. We have CAD capabilities, in-house design and fabrication, a modern machine shop, complete privacy of customer proprietary designs, and computerized job tracking. And our dry room operates at controlled temperatures and humidity levels as low as 10% R.H.

Meeting the growing needs of customers to get to market faster and save costs, we offer complete sub-assembly services for diagnostic applications. We can lay down nitrocellulose; laminate active membranes in our dry rooms; slit and laminate absorbents, conjugates and the like; and laminate multi-layer films or other materials to provide finished or semi-finished cards or test strips.
